Yet another Metropolitan Police Rapist officer, Tony Watts, has received a prison sentence exceeding five years for the rape of a woman.
Tony Watts, formerly associated with the north area command unit for Enfield and Haringey, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison at Croydon Crown Court this morning (Monday, the 18th).
He was previously convicted after a trial at the same court in July.
The crime pertains to an incident that occurred between mid-January and early February 2020 when Watts was off-duty.
Tony Watts was apprehended subsequent to the event reported in May 2022.
He was released on bail while additional investigations were conducted, subsequently being charged with rape last September and suspended from duty on full pay. Think about that, he was reported for rape in May 2022 and finally suspended from duty in September 2024.
A silly boys Metropolitan Police misconduct hearing occurred on Friday, August 8th, during which Tony Watts was terminated without notice after the chair determined, because he had been convicted of rape and imprisoned, he violated professional conduct standards due to discreditable behaviour constituting gross misconduct.
Tony Watts will be included on the prohibited list maintained by the College of Policing.
