In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Thomas Proudfoot, a Seaham Paedophile Child Molester, received a ten-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting and raping four young boys.
Thomas Proudfoot victimised individuals at the ages of 16 and 17, subjecting them to harrowing experiences.
The then 18-year-old resident of Market Street, Seaham, County Durham, was found guilty by a jury of 14 sexual assaults against four children, all under the age of 13, following a trial last year.
One boy has been characterised as “not the same child as before,” and there are concerns that all four victims may be “scarred for life.”
Prosecutor Andrew Espley informed Newcastle Crown Court that Proudfoot employed “friendliness as a tactic to establish trust in order to exploit them.”
Mr Espley stated, “We are uncertain about the extent of harm this offence has inflicted upon the four boys. We cannot ascertain that till they reach full adulthood and beyond.”
Thomas Proudfoot received a ten-year prison sentence, with no minimum sentence, which means he will be out in 5 years, and was mandated to register as a sex offender and comply with a lifelong sexual harm prevention order.
He will be prohibited from engaging in activities with minors.
Judge Penny Moreland stated, “Your actions are irreversible.” The repercussions at this juncture cannot be foreseen.
