A married farmer, and Crookstown Rapist, from County Cork, Thomas Nyhan, has received a total sentence of 19 years in prison for the violent buggering of another man on two occasions; however, he will spend less than 10 years for one of the offences.

Thomas “Tossy” Nyhan, 60, from Crookstown, County Cork, received a sentence of 11 and a half years, with the final year suspended, for the rape of a man in April 2019.

Thomas Nyhan, a father of four, was sentenced to an additional 8.5 years for the rape of a man in January 2011. The rapes transpired at a site in Limerick, as presented in court.

Mary Nyhan, Thomas Nyhan’s spouse, supporter and enabler of her rapist husband, accompanied him to court daily during his trial.

Prior to his transport to prison today, Thomas Nyhan’s family members wept, shouted, and embraced him, he is their hero.
