On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, the Offender Database reported on the trial of Thomas Morgan, 29, of Gorseinon, Swansea, who is accused of the “vile” murder of a five-month-old baby boy. Morgan appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with murder and three counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
The prosecution reported that on 30 March, Jensen-Lee Dougal was left in the care of Morgan, who was the child’s “stepfather.” During this time, Morgan allegedly became “angry and aggressive” while arguing with an ex-partner via text message. It is claimed that he “callously” shook the baby with “vicious” violence after his temper snapped.
“Vile” Injuries and Medical Evidence
The court heard that Jensen-Lee suffered catastrophic injuries, including “vicious” brain damage, numerous fractures, and extensive bleeding in both eyes. Prosecutor Caroline Rees KC emphasised that the degree of force used was “serious” and that the injuries were “vilely” and purposefully inflicted.
Morgan “dishonestly” claimed to the police that the baby had been found limp and that he had only shaken him to try to revive him. He further claimed he could not call 999 because his phone speaker was broken. However, the prosecution reported that Morgan’s account does not fit the “vicious” medical evidence.
Tragic Death and “Vile” Accusations
Jurors were told how a neighbour attempted CPR on the “lifeless and limp” baby before paramedics rushed him to the hospital. Despite medical intervention, the “serious” injuries were too severe, and Jensen-Lee died in his mother’s arms.
The prosecution emphasised that Morgan was “full of rage” at the time of the alleged assault. The “vile” nature of the “vicious” injuries suggests a “serious” loss of control. Morgan denies the charges, and the trial at Swansea Crown Court continues.
Monitoring and Public Protection
If convicted of these “vile” and “vicious” crimes, Thomas Morgan will face a “serious” and lengthy prison sentence. He would be managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by South Wales Police. His residency in Gorseinon, Swansea, and his “vile” history would be under “serious” lifelong scrutiny to protect the public.
