Thomas Hogg, aged 34, was convicted in 2021 of an offence involving a teenage boy in 2019.
Thomas Hogg was awarded an MBE in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
He held the position of mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Council during 2014-15, but subsequently resigned from the council following the initiation of proceedings.
Thomas Hogg had concurrently resigned from the DUP when allegations were filed against him.
