Thomas Dunn, the Hamilton Paedophile and Sex Offender, was jailed for seven years in 2019 for assaulting a 13-month-old girl and placing her in an operational tumble dryer has been released and is presently residing with family in the Hamilton region.
Thomas Dunn was previously convicted of culpable and reckless behaviour after a trial at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Thomas Dunn, from Hamilton, was found guilty of placing a youngster in the dryer and shutting the door, resulting in the machine’s activation, in Arbroath in 2017, when the youngster refused to comply with his wishes.
Upon her subsequent unresponsiveness, the child was taken to the hospital, where physicians identified cranial fractures, contusions, and a bite mark on her arm, along with various signs of abuse.
Following a five-day trial at Dundee Sheriff Court, a jury convicted Thomas Dunn of jeopardising the child’s life by repeatedly beating her on the head and body and colliding her against an unidentified object or items.
Thomas Dunn was additionally convicted of irresponsible and reckless behaviour in a prior incident in which he confined the daughter in a tumble dryer at his residence, in the presence of the child’s mother, who knew what Thomas Dunn was like.
While testifying at the trial, she stated that she heard a “thud” and turned to see her daughter within the machine with the door shut.
Sheriff Alastair Brown informed Thomas Dunn that he “must have struck that young girl with considerable force at least twice” to cause potentially life-threatening injuries.
