Terry Smith, the Heckington Paedophile, convicted of raping a child under the age of 13, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Terry Smith, residing on Scoggins Way in Heckington, was convicted of the offence during his appearance at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, 24 October.

The 40-year-old perpetrated the offence in the Lincoln vicinity from 2019 to 2021.

Terry Smith refuted the allegation but was convicted and subsequently registered as a lifelong sex offender.

The statement concludes an extensive inquiry, and Mhairi Boulton, Manager of the Protecting Vulnerable Persons West Hub, has honoured the victim and their family.

Terry Smith perpetrated a heinous crime that is unacceptable in our community and society as a whole. “No child should endure such an ordeal,” she stated.

The pursuit of justice has been protracted, and we extend our gratitude to the victim and their family for their patience, understanding, and courage throughout this investigation.

“Although the path to recovery may be protracted, we anticipate that this verdict, in some minor capacity, facilitates a sense of closure.”
