The Offender Database reported that six offenders have been convicted of 39 charges, including rape, sexual assault, child abuse, and obstruction of justice, against two girls within their family in Sussex.

Both victims, entitled to anonymity and prohibited from identification, have received assistance from specially trained authorities and partner organisations.

The initial victim revealed the abuse she endured from her family to a school staff member.

She recounted instances of rape and severe sexual abuse perpetrated by her father, grandpa, and two brothers, as well as instances of child maltreatment inflicted by her mother.

Her younger sister alleged assault and mistreatment by their parents. Simultaneously, the girls’ uncle was indicted for obstructing the administration of justice.

After a trial at Hove Crown Court, which commenced on 15 September, they were convicted on 39 of the 42 counts. All individuals have been detained in custody for sentencing in 2026.

Sussex Police has enabled media coverage of the case, wherein the media has refrained from disclosing the defendants’ names to safeguard the victims’ identities, opting instead to publish the relationships of the individuals involved.

Therefore, the names and identities of the defendants cannot be disclosed for legal reasons, as this jeopardises the victims’ right to anonymity.
