In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Stuart Williams, then 57, of Moore Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, was convicted of 17 “serious” sexual offences. A jury at Preston Crown Court took just three hours to unanimously find him guilty after a trial in which Williams inadvertently admitted to further “vile” crimes while giving evidence.
The investigation by Lancashire Constabulary revealed that Williams was a persistent predator who targeted both children and vulnerable adults. He was caught on three separate occasions by undercover police officers posing as children online—once while he was already on court bail for previous “serious” offences.
“Vile” History and Trial Admissions
The court reported that the “serious” investigation into Williams uncovered a “vile” history of both recent and historic abuse. During the trial, Williams attempted to defend his actions but instead confessed to two additional counts of making indecent images of children. His “serious” catalogue of convictions includes:
- Historic Abuse: Three counts of indecent assaults on a girl under 14 and the attempted rape of a female under 16.
- Sexual Violence: Four counts of sexually assaulting a female aged 13 and over, and two counts of sexual assault of an adult female.
- Grooming and Images: Three counts of sexual communication with a child, possession of Category B and C indecent images, and two counts of making images admitted during the trial.
Remand and Upcoming Sentence
Following the unanimous “vile” verdicts, Williams was remanded in custody. For his “abhorrent” crimes in Blackpool and Lancashire, Stuart Williams is scheduled to appear for sentencing on 9 February 2026.
The judge emphasised that Williams repeatedly preyed on vulnerable people and showed a “serious” disregard for the law by continuing his behaviour while on bail.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Williams is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Lancashire Constabulary. His residency in Blackpool, Lancashire, and his predatory behaviour remain under the most “serious” level of scrutiny.
Upon sentencing, Williams will be subject to lifetime registration on the Sex Offenders Register and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). Lancashire Constabulary emphasise that their undercover units are “serious” about identifying predators who believe they can hide behind digital anonymity. Any future “vile” behaviour or breach of his upcoming orders will result in immediate “serious” legal intervention to protect the public in Blackpool.
