A former police officer, Stuart Trentham, has been sentenced to imprisonment for transmitting “inappropriate” and “sexualised” communications to a vulnerable lady involved in a case he was investigating.

Stuart Trentham, 41, was a South Yorkshire Police constable stationed in Doncaster when a woman reported the unauthorised posting of her sexual pictures online.

Sheffield Crown Court was informed that Stuart Trentham oversaw the investigation and deceived the victim by asserting that a suspect was being interrogated, although the matter had really been concluded.

The prosecution asserted that Stuart Trentham’s conduct grew progressively inappropriate and began to decline when he commenced signing his messages to the victim with a kiss.

Prosecutor Joseph Bell stated that Stuart Trentham subsequently informed the woman he “preferred a bit of meat” and remarked that there is “nothing worse than a flat, bony butt.”

Mr. Bell stated that the woman initially blocked Stuart Trentham but subsequently unblocked him, believing he would possess pertinent information regarding the inquiry she mistakenly thought was still active.
