In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Steven Smith, the Stirling and Strathaven Paedophile, who transmitted a Snapchat image of his genitalia to a young teenager, was put on the sex offender registry.
Steven Smith, then 26, of Thomson Street, Strathaven, was mandated to pay the youngster £500 in compensation at his appearance at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.
He denied transmitting the pornographic image on Snapchat in February of the previous year, but was convicted during the trial.
The court was informed that Steven Smith was a previous neighbour of the girl in Motherwell.
Sympathiser Sheriff Daniel Kelly informed Smith, now of 17 Ben Lomond Drive, Stirling, of his readiness to impose a sanction other than incarceration.
The sheriff placed Steven Smith under supervision for 18 months and mandated 150 hours of unpaid community service.
Steven Smith is currently living happily with a woman and her young daughter.
