In 2018, the Offender Database reported that Stephen Banks, the Lockleaze Paedophile Child Molester, a MOD worker, was seen as a good foster carer by social services.

Well, until he was finally caught preying on the young children in his care.

He was caught for sexually abusing a young child and another girl when they were aged well under 16.

Stephen Banks, then 51, of Brangwyn Grove in Lockleaze, Bristol, refuted allegations of misconduct and compelled the complainants to undergo a trial.

A jury found him guilty of three sexual assaults on one minor and of exhibiting adult pornography to her.

Stephen Banks was convicted of two sexual attacks on the second girl and for possessing a film depicting the sexual abuse of a third child aged between three and four.

The Bristol Recorder, His Honour Judge Peter Blair QC, sentenced him to 17 and a half years of imprisonment, along with an additional year of extended liberty.

Stephen Banks was made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order designed to prevent him from re-offending.

Social services commented that Stephen Banks “had a positive influence on many foster children in his time”
