Simon Hancock, the Dartford Paedophile, a van driver, was apprehended by cops while circling a car park in Maidstone in search of a young child to rape.

Simon Hancock travelled from Dartford with the purpose of meeting a young teenage boy he had manipulated online over several days.

Simon Hancock undertook the 20-mile drive following the commencement of a series of explicit messages on applications such as Snapchat.

Throughout the internet interactions, the 47-year-old consistently transmitted explicit photographs of himself to the minor.

He informed them that he was aware of their minor status but said he could instruct them in sexual activities, including how to ‘touch, kiss, and hold’.

On 19 February 2025, Simon Hancock planned to visit the youngster but was apprehended by local cops, who became suspicious of his white Toyota van, which was constantly exiting and re-entering a car park adjacent to Mote Park.

The van was pursued and stopped in adjacent Greenside when the frantic driver abruptly reversed into an unmarked police vehicle.

Simon Hancock was encircled by officers who accessed his van and apprehended him.

A kitchen knife was confiscated from the vehicle, and the police also retrieved two mobile phones.

During the interrogation, Simon Hancock informed officers that he possessed indecent photographs of children on one of the confiscated devices, which he referred to as his ‘bad’ phone.

Simon Hancock was accused of orchestrating or enabling a child sex offence, attempting sexual communication with a minor, and producing indecent photos of a child.

Simon Hancock entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to JUST three years’ jail on 2 October at Woolwich Crown Court for trying to rape a child, possessing child porn, and carrying a knife. It is a British Justice deal of the week.

Following his release from incarceration, he will be governed by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The court ordered an additional charge of possessing a knife in a public place to remain on file.
