A 45-year-old Northampton Paedophile, Simon Giles, has been reincarcerated after acknowledging his violation of the conditions of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and his noncompliance with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders’ Register.

Simon Giles, formerly of Northampton, received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order in June 2024, resulting in his inclusion on the Sex Offenders’ Register.

The SHPO was imposed with specific requirements, including the obligation to inform the police of any social media activity and to refrain from disposing of any internet devices without prior approval.

On June 3 of this year, the MOSOVO Team of Northamptonshire Police was informed that he had been utilising the social media platform Connected2, which he had neglected to report to them. He had additionally sold an iPad without authorisation.

Simon Giles was apprehended and subsequently indicted on two charges of violating his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and one count of noncompliance with his notification obligations, after neglecting to provide a social media login.

On June 11, Simon Giles attended Northampton Magistrates’ Court, where he admitted guilt to all three charges and was subsequently remanded in custody as his case was referred to the county’s crown court for sentencing.

On August 27, Simon Giles was sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment at Northampton Crown Court.
