Simon Beckett, the Wrexham Paedophile, received a six-month suspended sentence for a prior crime involving the creation and possession of indecent photographs of minors, along with a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) that forbids him from utilising file-sharing or anonymising software.

Mould Crown Court was informed that the 55-year-old had utilised such software, violating the 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Authorities uncovered illicit photographs of minors on a gadget.

Prosecutor Karl Scholz stated that law enforcement discovered 19 photos classified as category A, three in category B, and 28 in category C.

Simon Beckett, residing on Queensway, Wrexham, acknowledged violating the Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and three charges of producing indecent images or pseudo-photographs of a minor between January 20, 2021, and October 1 of the previous year.

The magistrate His Honour Rhys Rowlands informed Beckett that his transgressions were “calculated rather than stemming from ignorance or errors on your part.” This was not a solitary incident or a singular behaviour.

He saw that Simon Beckett has been diagnosed with diabetes and has a “relatively isolated lifestyle,” yet there is no feasible possibility of rehabilitation.

The judge sentenced Simon Beckett to 14 months’ imprisonment for violating the SHPO and an additional 12 months for the category A crime, to be served consecutively.

No distinct sanctions existed for category B and C violations. A SHPO is valid for a duration of 10 years.
