In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Shilpa Uga, the Leicester Paedophile Sex Offender, a “callous” woman who threatened to disseminate explicit photos of an English school girl, was sentenced.
A girl was approached over social media by Shilpa Uga, impersonating a 21-year-old male, who solicited intimate photographs and videos from her.
Shilpa Uga, a British Indian, hailing from Leicester, subsequently extorted substantial sums of money from the girl.
She was sentenced to three years in prison after confessing to blackmail and five charges of possessing obscene pictures of a minor.
On Friday, Leicester Crown Court was informed that Shilpa Uga had communicated with the girl from January to April 2014, during which time she was 16 years old.
Shilpa Uga, then 26, of Pine Tree Avenue, thereafter threatened to disseminate the photographs she had obtained online unless the girl provided the requested sum of money.
Shilpa Uga’s misdeeds were revealed only after the adolescent attempted suicide and was discovered by a family member.
During the police investigation, it was found that Shilpa Uga had also disseminated the images and films to fellow paedophile Jatin Gohil, then 28, of St Barnabas Road, Leicester.
Earlier this month, he entered a guilty plea to seven charges of possession, creation, and distribution of obscene photographs of a child.
Atin Gohil received a three-year prison sentence, and both defendants were registered as sex offenders.
