The Dewsbury Monster, Shaunna Littlewood, sentenced to life in 2018 for binding her best friend to a bed and repeatedly stabbing her in a ‘motiveless’ assault has been RELEASED.
The victim nearly succumbed to exsanguination following 17 stab wounds inflicted by Shaunna Littlewood after an evening of shared drinking.
A court heard that Shaunna Littlewood restrained the woman by her wrists and ankles before retrieving a knife and causing severe injuries to her legs, torso, chest, neck, and face.
The assault occurred in Shaunna Littlewood’s bedroom at her residence in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, in July 2017.
The victim experienced internal haemorrhaging around her heart due to a single stab wound to her breast.
She further sustained a pneumothorax and injuries to her neck, abdomen, and mouth.
Shaunna Littlewood, who referred to herself as a ‘monster’ to her legal team throughout her trial, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, received a life sentence, and was mandated to serve a minimum of seven years in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
Shaunna Littlewood possesses prior convictions for severe violence. In 2014, she received a prison sentence for an assault in which she stomped on another woman’s head.
