Shaun Vincent, a paedophile care worker from Greater Manchester has been incarcerated after confessing to sexual offences against a vulnerable child.
Shaun Vincent, 36, was sentenced to 21 months in prison on 9 September 2024 at Bolton Crown Court and was subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Shaun Vincent acknowledged some minor acts but refuted the more severe sexual offences until the trial date, when, upon assessing the robustness of the evidence against him, he entered a guilty plea for the remaining seven offences.
Despite being aware that the youngster could not provide consent, Shaun Vincent proceeded to make unwelcome sexual advances, employing explicit language and perpetrating sexual offences against her.
After his detention, Shaun Vincent persisted in communicating with the adolescent, violating his police bail conditions, which resulted in his prompt appearance before the court in custody, where he has remained since the charge.
Jo Palmiero, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS North West, said: “As a care worker, Shaun Vincent was responsible for the wellbeing of children.
“He abused the trust placed in him in the worst way by committing sickening sexual offences against a teenager.
“The CPS worked with Greater Manchester Police to build a solid case to put before the court, including eyewitness testimony, phone evidence showing the messages Shaun Vincent sent to the girl and forensic evidence linking him to the victim. The strength of the evidence meant Vincent had no option but to plead guilty.
“I can only hope that the sentence provides some closure for the young victim, and she can begin to move forward knowing her abuser is facing the consequences of his actions.”
