The courage of a lady who reported historical sexual offences has led to the imprisonment of Sean Gamble, the Barnsley Paedophile.

From 1989 to 1992, Sean Gamble cultivated trust and camaraderie with his victim by offering her cigarettes and asserting that his acts were ‘their secret.’ He exploited this trust to perpetrate sexual abuse and rape against her.

Years later, his victim courageously emerged and revealed these egregious deeds, aspiring to avert the recurrence of the agony she endured for others.

Sean Gamble, 57, of Dawcroft Avenue, Barnsley, pleaded not guilty to two charges of raping a child under 16 and six charges of indecent assault on a girl under 14, but was convicted of all charges by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on 15 May.

Sean Gamble came before the same court today (Tuesday, October 7), where he received an 11-year term.
