A man and woman, the North Cornelly Rapists, Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus, have been condemned to more than 16 years for rape.

On Sunday, September 4, 2022, South Wales Police received a complaint indicating that a 17-year-old female had been sexually abused by Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus.

The call was initiated by the victim’s mother, who was representing her interests.

Officers responded to the call and obtained a statement from the victim, who detailed that she had been out celebrating with Sarah Vigus.

Vigus’s associate Sean Ellis-Evans at a nearby tavern. Subsequent to their visit to the pub, Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus extended an invitation to her residence on Heol Degwm, which she accepted.

Upon arrival, she remembered little aside from dozing off on the basement sofa. Upon awakening, she observed Sarah Vigus floating over her and realised that Sean Ellis-Evans was attacking her. She also remembered experiencing Sarah Vigus’s touch on her body and observing Ellis-Evan’s attacks.

The victim experienced distress and sought to depart, but Sarah Vigus endeavoured to obstruct her. Upon collecting her possessions, the victim exited the residence and proceeded down the street, trailed by Sean Ellis-Evans, who then escorted her home.

Upon returning home, she revealed the horrible incidents carried out by Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus to her parents.

During the inquiry, the analysis of mobile phone data indicated that Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus had articulated ideas of sexual acts with the 17-year-old victim.

On the night of September 4, they purchased multiple alcoholic beverages for her before inviting her to their residence.

At the trial’s conclusion, the jury rendered a unanimous decision, declaring Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus guilty.

Due to the severity of the offence, Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus were placed in detention.

Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus, both residents of Heol Degwm, North Cornelly, Bridgend, were sentenced today, Monday, September 22, 2025, to a cumulative term of 16 years and 6 months at Cardiff Crown Court.

Sean Ellis-Evans, aged 39, received a sentence of eight years and three months for the crime of rape.

Sarah Marie Vigus, aged 38, received a sentence of eight years and three months for sexual assault involving penetration and rape.
