A Lincoln Paedophile, Sean Dempster, who amassed and constructed an extensive library of illicit photos of minors, has been sentenced to imprisonment today (5 September).

Sean Dempster, residing on Welland Road in Lincoln, was sentenced to three years in prison at Lincoln Crown Court.

The 31-year-old came to our notice when a referral indicated that a user of a Sony PlayStation account had uploaded a Category C obscene image of a child online.

On 21 May 2024, officers apprehended Sean Dempster on allegations of disseminating indecent photographs of minors and confiscated his cell phone for analysis. Digital media detectives discovered more than 20,000 Category A-C obscene photographs of youngsters on his mobile device.

Chat logs from Telegram and KIK indicated that Sean Dempster not only created indecent photos of minors by downloading and saving them but also transmitted images and videos to other people.

Investigators discovered conversation records in which Sean Dempster was allegedly urging minors to engage in self-directed sexual actions and spoke with them in a sexualised manner.

On 31 March of this year, another referral from Instagram was made to the police over the transmission of Category A videos of children in a private chat. Investigations discovered that the account was registered to Sean Dempster, who transmitted these photographs while under bail conditions.

Sean Dempster had been utilising a new phone, which was subsequently confiscated along with an iPad he attempted to conceal under a pillow from officers during a house search. He was promptly apprehended for more charges, and upon scrutinising his phone and iPad, detectives discovered 5,261 additional Category A-C indecent photographs of minors, along with 165 forbidden images of children.

Investigations found that Sean Dempster possessed over 20,000 obscene photos of children and distributed over 340 images online.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) received the case while Sean Dempster was in police custody, resulting in the 31-year-old being charged with three additional offences of producing indecent photos of children and one charge of possessing forbidden images of children.

Sean Dempster was remanded to detention and has stayed there for sentencing, which occurred today.
