Scott Cameron, the Liverpool Paedophile and former Merseyside firefighter, has been convicted of grooming and participating in sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl.

On 10 October 2025, a jury at Liverpool Crown Court convicted Scott Cameron, 40, from Liverpool, guilty of ten offences against a juvenile between 2022 and 2024.

Scott Cameron, who was suspended and subsequently terminated by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, asserted that he believed the girl was 16, despite her having indicated she was 13 in an earlier correspondence with personnel at the station where he was employed.

Scott Cameron was 37 years of age at that time.

Personnel from the station participated in a community event at a school in Merseyside, and the victim subsequently reached out to them with a handwritten message from herself and a friend, sent to another fireman, expressing their admiration and enjoyment of the visit.

Scott Cameron observed the card with the victim’s phone number and initiated contact through text messages and subsequently social media, impersonating the firefighter to whom it was directed. He informed the victim that she was “gorgeous” and enhanced her sense of significance. A photograph of the juvenile, a handwritten card, was discovered on Scott Cameron’s phone at the time of his arrest.

The communications grew explicitly sexual, and he requested images of her in partial attire. He began to solicit nude shots, substantiating his requests by threatening to cease communication and disseminate the previous images she had provided him. He even proposed to compensate her for the images.

Confidential meetings persisted throughout the subsequent months, during which Scott Cameron participated in significant sexual encounters with her multiple times. The police became aware of the situation when they examined messages on the victim’s phone for an unrelated investigation and discovered sexualised communications between her and the defendant.

Scott Cameron consistently deceived the police by asserting that he had not participated in any sexual behaviour or conversation with the victim, even implying that the victim had been harassing him.

Scott Cameron ultimately conceded to having participated in sexual intercourse with the victim when confronted with irrefutable evidence. He maintained that he believed her to be 16 and that he had never reached out to her impersonating the other fireman. The jury discerned the falsehoods and adjudicated him guilty on all charges. Sentencing will occur at a subsequent date.
