On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, the Offender Database reported that Scott Buxton, 32, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 11-and-a-half years at Chester Crown Court. Buxton was found guilty of a series of vile and predatory crimes, including rape and threats to kill, following an eight-day trial in November 2025.
The investigation by Cheshire Constabulary revealed a disturbing pattern of “vicious” and controlling behaviour. In May 2025, Buxton made several threats to “blow up” the victim’s car and kill her during a phone conversation with a family member. These threats prompted the victim to contact the police, leading to the discovery of a “vile” history of abuse.
“Vile” Control and Coercive Behaviour
The court reported that the victim had “vilely” been subjected to repeated assaults, often waking up to find Buxton raping or attempting to rape her. In addition to the physical violence, Buxton was “dishonestly” controlling, tracking the victim’s movements and isolating her from friends and family. He callously disclosed details of her whereabouts that she had not shared with him, creating a “serious” environment of fear and surveillance.
Detective Constable Max Jones emphasised the “serious” bravery of the victim in coming forward, especially after Buxton “dishonestly” failed to take responsibility and put her through the stress of an eight-day trial.
Sentence and Lifetime Registration
For his “vile” and “vicious” crimes, Scott Buxton was:
- Sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison.
- Subjected to a 15-year restraining order.
- Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Buxton is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Cheshire Constabulary. Upon his release, his behaviour and lack of a fixed address will be under “serious” lifelong scrutiny. The 15-year restraining order ensures the victim is legally protected from any “dishonest” attempts at contact.
Any “vile” breach of his conditions or “vicious” return to predatory behaviour in Chester or elsewhere will result in his immediate arrest and “serious” return to custody.
