A Nottinghamshire paedophile, Samuel Marriott from Farnsfield, communicated with girls aged 11 and 12, soliciting photographs of them in bikinis or undergarments. Nottingham Crown Court was informed that Samuel Marriott possessed around 200 illicit images of child abuse on his phone, in addition to photographs depicting a lady engaging in sexual actions with a dog.
The 24-year-old, Samuel Marriott, transmitted an image of his genitalia to one of the females, suggesting that reciprocating with a similar image would facilitate his arousal. However, Lexi and Alice, with whom he was conversing online, were actually undercover police officers.
Recorder Stuart Sprawson sentenced him to an 18-month prison term, suspended for two years, stating: “You deliberately and intentionally guided the conversation and effectively groomed them to send you explicit photographs.” You conveyed your intentions for what you would like to accomplish with them upon meeting.

The prosecutor stated: “Samuel Marriott enquired if she had experienced ‘a beach day’ and whether she possessed any photographs of herself in a bikini, asserting that her attractiveness would be ‘multiplied’ if she were in a bikini.” He subsequently requested that she record herself changing and remove her shirt. She responded, stating, “That would be mischievous,” to which he answered, “Mischievous yet enjoyable.”
“On October 4, Samuel Marriott texted her, stating that if he kissed her, his hand would be on her buttocks, and he requested that she use her hand on his genitals, claiming that videos of her changing would enhance his arousal.”
Miss Stanford stated that the second “victim” was another undercover officer impersonating a 12-year-old girl named Alice, with whom Samuel Marriott initiated online communication similarly to Lexi on October 9, 2023. She stated that he once more enquired whether she would email him photographs of herself over school holiday.
The prosecutor stated: ‘On November 2, 2023, he transmitted a selfie of his lower body, revealing his clothed crotch, and thereafter enquired, ‘Do you wear pyjamas to bed, or are you among those who wear knickers or nothing?’’
Miss Stanford stated that the defendant was apprehended on November 30, and his mobile phone was confiscated and analysed. She stated that it contained 181 photographs and videos of child abuse, of which 32 fell into the most severe category, generally depicting small children being sexually assaulted by adults.
The prosecution stated that the age ranges of all the photographs were between six and twelve, although one unlawful image depicted a youngster as young as three. She stated that there were also 21 photographs depicting a woman performing sexual actions with a dog.
During the interview, Miss Stanford stated that the defendant confessed to his actions, attributing them to “loneliness.”
Samuel Marriott, residing on Abbott Crescent in Farnsfield, admitted guilt to charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor, possession of indecent photos of minors, possession of forbidden images of minors, and possession of extreme pornographic materials. He possesses no prior convictions of any nature.
Sian Barber, in mitigation, stated that her client had provided complete and candid admissions throughout the police interview. She stated: “His employment was suspended last summer and may resume contingent upon the outcome of this hearing.”
The judge mandated Samuel Marriott to complete a 26-day recognised program, 25 rehabilitation sessions, and 80 hours of community service as part of the suspended sentence order.
He additionally registered Samuel Marriott as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years, imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, and mandated a payment of £150 towards the prosecution’s expenses.
