Russell Beckett had been free to resume his career in the force after misconduct proceedings were dropped in 2022. However, PC Russell Beckett found himself in hot water a second time having now been convicted of three assaults.
Back in April 2022, the had been accused of hiding and disposing of a mobile phone which should have been handed to investigators following a domestic incident in 2019. Russell Beckett had told the arresting officer that he had thrown it away near a railway line in Marske.
That evening the phone was switched on and began sending and receiving messages and PC Beckett was charged.
However, the case was dismissed due to conflicting evidence over the time PC Russell Beckett was released from custody.
PC Beckett, who remains as an officer with Cleveland Police, was convicted of 3 counts of common assault and handed a 12 month community order and told to complete 150 hours of unpaid work at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court in November 2022.
He remained a Cleveland Police officer for another year and finally RESIGNED IN AUGUST 2023!
