In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Roksana Leckathen 23, of HounslowLondon, was deported to Poland on Thursday, 5 February 2026. This follows her sentencing last year for a “sadistic” and “vile” campaign of abuse against 21 babies and toddlers while working at Riverside Nursery in Twickenham, Middlesex, and Little Munchkins in Hounslow.

The investigation established that between October 2023 and June 2024, Lecka systematically targeted children aged between 18 months and two years. The prosecution reported that she “pinched, slapped, punched, smacked, and kicked” the victims, often targeting them when colleagues’ backs were turned. CCTV footage emphasised the “vicious” nature of her conduct, showing her pulling children’s ears, hair, and toes, and throwing them headfirst into cots. The “despicable” scale of the abuse was uncovered in June 2024 after a colleague noticed her appearing “flustered” and another staff member reported she had been pinching children.

Judicial Findings and Investigative Detail

Judge Sarah Plaschkes KC emphasised at Kingston Crown Court that Lecka committed acts of “gratuitous violence” and described her behaviour as “sadistic.” During the trial, Lecka initially denied the “vile” assaults but changed several pleas to guilty after being shown enhanced CCTV evidence. The court reported that Lecka admitted she would get “moody” if she could not vape at work and claimed she was “addicted” to her boyfriend, which distracted her from her duties.

Munira Wilson, the MP for Twickenham, emphasised the “horror” felt by the victims’ families, who were given less than a week’s notice of the deportation. The prosecution emphasised that due to time spent on remand, Lecka became eligible for the government’s early removal scheme on 7 October 2025—less than two weeks after her eight-year sentence was handed down. Families have expressed “frustration” that Lecka may walk free in Poland after serving just four months of her sentence, as the scheme does not require serving the remainder of the sentence abroad.

Sentence and Statutory Requirements

For her crimes in England, Roksana Lecka was subject to:

  • Custodial Sentence: Eight years in prison (handed down in September 2025).
  • Deportation: Early removal to Poland on 5 February 2026.
  • Return Ban: Indefinitely barred from returning to the UK.
  • Sex Offenders Register: Notification requirements are in effect for life.
  • Convictions: Admitted seven counts and was convicted by a jury of a further 14 counts of cruelty to a person under 16.

Monitoring and Public Protection

Lecka is currently managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by the Metropolitan Police and the Home Office. Because of the “heinous” nature of her “vicious” crimes, British authorities are attempting to share her criminal history with Polish officials to ensure she is monitored upon arrival.

While she will no longer be in the UK, Lecka’s details remain on the Sex Offenders Register. Victims’ families emphasised their fear that, if left unsupervised in Poland, she would remain a risk to other children. The Ministry of Justice and the Home Office emphasised that all foreign national offenders are referred for deportation at the earliest opportunity, though ministers are meeting today to discuss the specific “sadistic” details of this case and the lack of transparency regarding her release terms abroad.
