Rohit Choudhary, from East Kilbride, has been convicted of sexually assaulting his victim on a crowded road in Renfrewshire.
Rohit Choudhary was found guilty by a jury of the heinous sexual assault after a trial at Paisley Sheriff Court.
The unanimous verdict determined that the 32-year-old was convicted of sexually assaulting a man on Paisley Road in Renfrew on January 8, 2023.
Rohit Choudhary assaulted the victim by shoving him and kissing him. The town’s court heard that Choudhary placed his hand into the man’s trousers and grasped his genitals.
Rohit Choudhary also attempted to sexually abuse the man’s anus. Choudhary refuted the allegation against him.
Defence attorney Mr. Johnstone requested the reports to be summoned and for Choudhary to be retained on bail.
Sheriff Bruce Erroch KC submitted Rohit Choudhary’s conviction to Scottish ministers and postponed sentencing to request a criminal justice social work report and an assessment for a restriction of liberty order.
Rohit Choudhary, from Kenilworth, East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, has been registered as a sex offender, with the duration to be established at his sentencing hearing next month.
His bail order was extended in the interim.
