Roderick Lukins, the Bridgwater Paedophile, has been incarcerated following his conviction for sexual offences against a minor.
Roderick Lukins, a resident of Bridgwater, made lascivious remarks and engaged in inappropriate physical contact with a minor.
The 76-year-old, Roderick Lukins, was sentenced to three years and nine months in custody at Taunton Crown Court today, Thursday, October 16. He was also issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Roderick Lukins’ offences were revealed when he contacted the child’s relatives, claiming they wished for him to escort the child to an event in Bridgwater, a statement the victim refuted.
Although the family had known Roderick Lukins for several months and regarded him as trustworthy, they found his request concerning and deemed it improper.
Several weeks later, the youngster enquired about Roderick Lukins and his absence, prompting the family to articulate their concerns.
Over time, the victim made multiple disclosures to acquaintances of Roderick Lukins’ sexual touching and kissing.
In 2022, the offences were reported to Avon and Somerset Police, prompting an inquiry by specialised police.
In July, Roderick Lukins of Bell Close was convicted of two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and an additional charge of sexual activity with a child.
