A deceitful Dundee Sex Offender catfish perpetrator, Robi MacBain, who deceived four ladies from Dundee into transmitting nude recordings and photographs has been sentenced to five years of sex offender registration.
Robi MacBain, a former military and convicted child abuser, appropriated an English man’s identity to fabricate a fraudulent Facebook and Tinder profile.
His victims were under the impression they were conversing with a man named Craig Thomson, a tall, bearded former marine from Broughty Ferry employed in security.
They dedicated weeks and months conversing with Robi MacBain, who adopted the persona of a married father from Suffolk.
Robi MacBain was mandated to complete 187 hours of community service and subjected to a restriction of liberty order from 7 PM to 7 AM for a duration of 136 days.
The sheriff additionally registered Robi MacBain as a sex offender for a duration of five years.
