A Police Scotland officer, Rikki Henderson from Strichen, who amassed a “repugnant collection” of indecent photos of minors has been spared incarceration.
Rikki Henderson was additionally convicted of capturing and disseminating an image of a woman’s intimate anatomy.
An Aberdeen Sheriff Court jury convicted him of three crimes after a trial in August.
During the hearings, the court was informed that photographs depicting children as young as eight involved in cruel sexual activities were discovered in the “sent” folder of his WhatsApp account.
Out of the nine discovered, seven were classified as category C, the least severe, one as category B, and another as category A.
He was also charged with two sexual assaults at the Army Cadet Force at Boddam, near Peterhead, but the jury deemed these allegations unproven.
Rikki Henderson, residing on Bridge Street in Strichen, denied any misconduct and appeared in court yesterday for sentencing.
Defence agent John MacLeod, representing the 25-year-old, stated that his client has forfeited everything due to the offences.
He stated that the assessment indicated he “lacked emotional maturity” and that he had “lost two careers.”
Sheriff William Summers stated that the woman photographed by Henderson was compelled to appear in court due to his not guilty plea, and she did so with “dignity,” which was the “absolute opposite of your conduct.”
He stated, “I acknowledge that your life has disintegrated in a profoundly significant manner.” You are only the creator of that work.
He subjected Rikki Henderson to surveillance and enrolled him on the sex offenders register for three years, additionally mandating 260 hours of community service.

He was suspended from both positions last year following his arrest by cops upon disembarking from a plane at Edinburgh airport.
A forensic examination of his Samsung Galaxy smartphone revealed nine disturbing images of children as young as eight.
Police cyber-crime specialist Neil Adam, who discovered the photographs, stated: “It depicts a sadistic sexual act.”
Mr. Adam stated that the images were only retrievable via his search and may have been automatically transmitted through Henderson’s WhatsApp account.
Investigators also observed a photograph of the officer’s girlfriend, captured during their vacation at the Citizen M Hotel in Glasgow.
The court was informed that the victim, whose identity cannot be disclosed, was unaware that he had captured the snapshot and transmitted it via WhatsApp messenger.
She said that she discovered it months later when police presented it to her.
She stated, “I would not have granted my consent to that.” It is peculiar to behave in such a manner while in a relationship with another individual.
She expressed feeling “ill,” in addition to feeling “betrayed and distressed.” The court was informed that they are no longer a couple.
In a police interview, Henderson stated, “She means everything to me.” I have subjected her to significant distress and feel remorseful.

The jury determined that two charges of intoxicated sexual assaults at the officer’s mess in Boddam, Aberdeenshire were unsubstantiated.
They also acquitted Rikki Henderson of an additional charge concerning the creation or possession of indecent photos of minors at his residence in Strichen.
Rikki Henderson is currently listed on the sex offender registry and was suspended from both the cadets and police upon his initial arrest.
It is reported that he resigned from his position as a police officer in recent days and is expected to be dismissed by senior military officials shortly.
