Back in 2017, Rhys Roser, the Maida Vale Rapist, was incarcerated for rape following the recording of his 19-year-old victim imploring him to cease, together with his subsequent confession to the offence, captured on her mobile phone.
Rhys Roser, 24, has received a sentence of seven years and eight months in prison for the 2015 assault.
Rhys Roser first refuted the accusation upon his arrest but then fled upon learning of the recording of the assault, ultimately entering a guilty plea in court.
The assault occurred in a flat in Maida Vale. The adolescent successfully activated her phone’s audio recorder when Rhys Roser initially made unwelcome advances, prior to secluding herself in a restroom.
The prosecution stated in court, as reported by the Daily Mirror, that the audio demonstrated the victim, aged 19 at the time, had instructed Rhys Roser to desist from contacting her.
After raping the teenager, Rhys Roser is heard saying on the recording: You’re not going to stand up in court and tell everyone you were raped, way too embarrassing.
Don’t fucking tell anyone, it’s real simple.
According to Metro.co.uk, Recorder Matthew Lowe told Rhys Roser: You were heard saying that you had gone mad and were wrong in every way, and went on to plead with her not to report what happened and put pressure on her.
She describes it as emotional blackmail. What you did to her that night has had significant psychological and emotional effects.
