In 2022, Ramon Rarity, the West Lothian Paedophile, a 74-year-old man, was sentenced to seven years in jail after being convicted of historical sexual offences against children.

Ramon Rarity perpetrated offences against three boys aged 11 and 12 between 1997 and 1998 in the Seafield region of West Lothian.

Detective Constable Lynn Morrison stated: “Due to the bravery of the three men in reporting the assaults they experienced in their youth, we were able to construct a substantial case against Ramon Rarity, which ultimately led to his conviction and sentencing.”

“I wish to emphasise to all individuals who have endured sexual abuse that there is no statute of limitations for reporting these offences.”

We will consistently perform a comprehensive investigation, regardless of the time elapsed since the incidents, and we will exert every effort to ensure that offenders are held accountable.
