A Brighton Rapist from Brazil, Rafael Nascimento has been charged following the horrific rape of a 17-year-old male in Brighton.
At approximately 5 AM on Sunday, August 10, police were informed that the victim was seated on a bench on Dyke Road, near the North Street junction, when Rafael Nascimento approached him requesting assistance in locating an open shop.
The victim aided the man prior to being transported to a location in Regent Hill where the rape allegedly occurred.
A probe was initiated, resulting in the prompt arrest of a 38-year-old male from Brazil, Rafael Nascimento in proximity to the property in relation to the investigation.
Rafael Nascimento, whose residence is unknown, was charged with rape in the early hours of Tuesday, August 12, and subsequently appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court later that day.
He was remanded into jail by the judge, awaiting his next hearing at Lewes Crown judge on September 9.
