Philip Cook was found guilty of many historical child sexual abuse charges dating back to the late 1980s.

A 51-year-old resident paedophile of Davenport Row, Philip Cook, Halton Lodge, Runcorn, was convicted of nine charges of child indecent assault.

The charges indicated an escalation from sexual touching to acts classified as rape.

The abhorrent abuse was perpetrated against a youngster under the age of 12 and involved sexual acts and “simulated sexual intercourse”.

The incidents occurred in Liverpool during the late 1980s, when Philip Cook was a young adult.

Philip Cook was incarcerated for nine years.
