In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Peter Voisey, then 54, of Blyth, Northumberland, was scheduled for a parole hearing in February of that year. Voisey, a “vile” and “vicious” predator, was jailed for life in 2006 with a minimum term of ten years after being convicted of a “serious” and “depraved” attack on a six-year-old girl. The investigation by Northumbria Police revealed that on 27 December 2005, Voisey broke into a family home in North Tyneside, snatched the child from her bath, and “vilely” raped her before dumping her naked in a snow-covered alleyway.
The court heard horrendous details of the “vicious” abduction, which took place while the victim’s mother was in another room. Voisey “callously” smothered the child’s screams and drove her to a secluded location where he carried out the “serious” sexual assault. The prosecution emphasised that Voisey was a “dangerous” individual who had been released from prison just four years earlier following a similar “vile” attack on a 12-year-old girl in a Cheshire swimming pool. His diary entry following the North Tyneside attack—”Phew, it’s over. Chill now,”—highlighted his “depraved” lack of remorse.
During his 2006 sentencing at Newcastle Crown Court, Judge David Hodson emphasised that Voisey was a “dangerous predatory male” and warned that he might never be released. This upcoming hearing marks the sixth time Voisey has made a “serious” bid for freedom. The Parole Board reported that the decision will be based on whether the risk he poses to the public is “manageable in the community,” taking into account the “vicious” nature of his original crimes and the “serious” lifelong impact on his victims.
As a result of his conviction for rape and kidnapping, Peter Voisey remains on the Sex Offenders Register for life. If released, he would be managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Northumbria Police and the National Probation Service, ensuring his behaviour and movements in Blyth, North Tyneside, and elsewhere are strictly monitored. Any further “vile” behaviour or breach of licensing conditions would result in his immediate recall to prison to continue serving his life sentence.
