For historical sexual assault crimes, a Darlaston Paedophile, Paul Whitehouse, has been imprisoned for 28 years. 2008 saw Paul Whitehouse of All Saints Road, Darlaston, accused of child sexual abuse. Thanks to the bravery of the initial victim, four other survivors of sexual assault came forward starting in 2019.
Following claims from the five victims, authorities discovered that Paul Whitehouse, 56, was accused of nine charges, including attempted rape and sexual attacks on minors under 13.
Paul Whitehouse was detained in February 2019; following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, he was found guilty on May 24.
Paul Whitehouse was sentenced to 28 years imprisonment on July 22 for charges involving gross indecency with a girl under 14, indecent assault on a girl under 14, and attempted rape of a female under 16.
DC has Mike Smith of our Public Protection Unit remarked, “This case emphasises the need to report sexual abuse regardless of whether the acts are non-recent.
“Please report any sexual abuse you may have survived. We have a team of specialised officers to assist you and steer you over the legal procedure.
“We also collaborate with several support organisations with advisory capability.
“These five victims bravely came forward to speak with officers, and I hope that it will encourage other sexual abuse survivors to do the same.”
Survivors of sexual offences have lifetime confidentiality and legal protection, which is noteworthy.
