In June 2024, Paul Radford, the Sutton-in-Ashfield Paedophile, aged 50, encountered his young target in an online chatroom.
He thereafter transmitted sexually explicit messages and images, requesting their return.
In their discussions, he was informed that the girl was 13 years old.
Unbeknownst to Paul Radford, he was interacting with an undercover cop from another region of the country.
Nottinghamshire Police were notified of Paul Radford’s internet conduct and apprehended him at his residence on 11 July 2024.
Subsequently, his devices were scrutinised, revealing six illicit photos of minors.
These comprised two ‘category A’ photos, the highest rating of indecent images of youngsters.
Paul Radford, residing on Institute Street in Sutton-in-Ashfield, subsequently admitted guilt to one allegation of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor and three charges of possessing indecent photos of a minor.
On Tuesday, September 23, he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years.
Paul Radford was subjected to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order and was registered as a sex offender.
Nottinghamshire Police did not release his image, which will enable Paul Radford to continue offending with anonymity.
