He used nine Facebook profiles and three gaming accounts to befriend children, inciting them to commit sexual acts on camera in exchange for gaming credits. His victims, many under the age of 13 and some as young as nine, were located across South Wales, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Northern Ireland, and the USA. The prosecution reported that police discovered 110 hours of abuse footage on his seized devices.

Judge Richard Twomlow noted that while the abuse occurred through a screen, it was a “very real” and “reprehensible” experience for the victims. Upon his arrest, Thomas told officers, “That’s the one I didn’t want you to find,” referring to the device containing the most incriminating evidence.
