Telling a 15-year-old schoolgirl he was going to have sex with her, a child molester, Osman Mohamed Grangetown Paedophile, asked her to meet him close to a Morrisons supermarket.

After drinking, Osman Mohamed lied to his victim, saying he was the same age she was before sexually attacking her by groping her bottom.

Having taken a train from Cardiff, the 36-year-old defendant approached the stranger, a girl, in the Bargoed area of Caerphilly.

Christopher Evans, the prosecutor, claimed the woman no longer feels safe in her neighbourhood.

Following a trial of encouraging a girl to participate in sexual behaviour and sexual assault, Osman Mohamed was found guilty by a jury.

He had disputed the crimes committed on Monday, August 30, the summer bank holiday of 2021.

Osman Mohamed, of Taff Embankment, Grangetown, Cardiff, was once convicted of drink driving.

Representing the defendant, Harry Baker demanded the unavoidable prison sentence “to be kept as short as possible”.

Recorder Caroline Rees KC told Mohamed, sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court, “You drank alcohol, and the victim assessed you to be drunk.”

You hugged the victim, who was just fifteen years old and accompanied by her friend.

You touched her from her bottom across her clothes.

“She told you she was just 15, and you replied you were 15. However, she very soon judged you were talking crap and that you were older.

“You were arrested in Bargoed after the police were summoned a short time later.”

Record Rees added: “Your current stance denies your involvement in the offences.

“It follows that you demonstrate no insight or regret for the behaviour the jury was sure you were guilty of.”

Osman Mohamed was imprisoned for fifteen months after following events with the aid of an Arabic interpreter.

Osman Mohamed will serve half of that period in custody; any time spent there will be deducted from his sentence.

Although the defendant, Osman Mohamed, was advised he may face deportation from the UK, he will have to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
