A man, Nam Nguyen London Rapist, who subjected a lady to a sustained and deliberate pattern of physical and emotional mistreatment has been incarcerated as a result of an inquiry conducted by the Metropolitan Police.

Nam Nguyen exerted dominance over the woman’s existence for ten days in September 2023, confining her within a residence located in Tulse Hill.

She successfully fled the premises by leaping out of a window. She sprinted into a care home nearby, where she was discovered with severe injuries on her face and body. She was subjected to sexual assault and endured other acts of violence.

Law enforcement personnel were summoned and initiated an inquiry. Nam Nguyen was apprehended and taken into custody shortly after being recognised as the suspect.

The victim provided detailed testimony to the authorities of the appalling mistreatment she endured, which involved brutal assaults, one of which caused a spinal fracture.

According to her testimony, the defendant not only assumed control over the victim’s financial matters but also physically confined her to prevent her from leaving the flat.

This crucial evidence was vital in securing the defendant’s conviction in conjunction with CCTV footage and forensic evidence.

Nam Nguyen, a 27-year-old individual born on May 5, 1997, with no permanent residence, was convicted and sentenced at the Inner London Crown Court on Friday, August 16. The penalty was 17 years of jail and an additional four-year extended sentence.

The individual must serve two-thirds of the sentence before being eligible to petition for parole. Additionally, they must comply with notification obligations for the remainder of their life.

Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, the commanding officer responsible for local policing in Lambeth and Southwark, expressed his empathy for the immense agony and suffering endured by the victim. He expressed satisfaction that the individual accountable for these heinous acts had been prosecuted.

“This is one of the most egregious offences our detectives have ever encountered, and I do not underestimate the profound impact that discussing this matter at length has had on the victim.” We shall persist in assisting her to the fullest extent possible.

“This investigation has been highly intricate, and I trust that this result showcases the Met’s dedication to addressing violence against women and girls.” We will persist in ensuring that men who are hazardous and predatory are held accountable for their conduct.
