Officers investigating a sexual assault in Macclesfield have released an image of a man they would like to speak to.
At around 1.47 am on Wednesday, 23 October 2024, police in Macclesfield responded to reports of a sexual assault that had occurred earlier in the evening.
The caller reported that her friend, a 19-year-old woman, had been sexually assaulted between 12.43 am and 12.46 am in the Mill Street area of Macclesfield.
Following enquiries, investigating officers have arrested and charged a 45-year-old man in connection with the incident.
Detectives have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have vital information that could aid them in their enquiries. He was seen walking on the opposite side of Mill Street, where the incident is alleged to have occurred, at around the same time.
He is also seen wearing a red/pink backpack and carrying a green carrier-style bag.
