Mike Smith, renowned for his portrayal of Bubbles in the television series Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault related to an alleged event from 2017, as reported by TMZ and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Mike Smith was officially charged earlier this month in Halifax. He has been mandated, as a condition of his release, to refrain from contacting the claimed victim or approaching their residence, place of employment, or educational institution.

Trailer Park Boys Inc. has announced that Mike Smith has resigned from his position as managing director.

The corporation confirmed the accusation and stated that it would refrain from further commentary due to the pending legal proceedings.

Mike Smith has depicted Bubbles in more than 100 episodes since the show’s inception in 2001. Trailer Park Boys initially broadcast until 2007, subsequently being acquired by Netflix in 2014. The thirteenth season is set to debut in April 2026.

This is hardly Mike Smith’s inaugural legal predicament. In 2016, he was apprehended in Los Angeles after an incident involving a female individual.

Prosecutors opted not to file charges due to insufficient evidence.
