In 2023, a 34-year-old Aylesbury Paedophile, Mike Martin, was incarcerated after being convicted of sexual offences against minors.

After a 16-day trial at St Albans Crown Court in May of this year, Mike Martin was convicted of nine counts of sexual activity with a child involving two vulnerable girls.

On Thursday, 31 August, Mike Martin returned to St Albans Crown Court, where he received an 11-year prison sentence. He will be permanently included on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Both victims were adolescent teenagers residing in the Dacorum region of Hertfordshire when they initially encountered and were manipulated by Mike Martin. The initial incidents occurred in 2012, when Mike Martin was 23 years of age.

DC Vicky Draper from the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit remarked: “This investigation was intricate and lengthy, with both victims receiving support from our HALO team specialists, and we commend their courage in participating in the investigation.”

“Perpetrators such as Mike Martin exploit vulnerable girls by befriending them during times of need and subsequently betraying the trust established to exploit them sexually.”
