A Burgh Le Marsh Rapist, Michael Young, convicted of raping and strangling a woman has been sentenced to seven years and nine months in prison.
Michael Young, previously residing on Skegness Road in Burgh Le Marsh, admitted guilt to charges of rape and non-fatal strangulation on the initial day of a trial in February at Lincoln Crown Court.
The 35-year-old had been detained in detention since the previous year for consistently violating his bail conditions.
Both charges pertain to events that occurred in July 2022 in Skegness, initiating an extensive investigation by Lincolnshire Police to ensure Michael Young’s prosecution.
On Thursday, 14 August, Michael Young was sentenced to almost seven years in prison, issued a restraining order, and registered as a lifelong sex offender. He was granted a five-year extension of his licence.
