A Linton Paedophile sexual offender, Michael Shield, is now required to register on the sex offenders’ list after possessing over 240 indecent photos of minors.
Michael Shield reportedly “descended into the profound, obscure rabbit hole” of internet searches when he acquired category A, B, and C photos.
The 31-year-old, Michael Shield, was discovered with the abhorrent goods in June of the previous year during a police raid at his residence.
Michael Shield, of Linton Hill, Linton, Maidstone, was subsequently charged with three charges of producing obscene pictures and confessed to the offences at his appearance before magistrates in Medway on August 20.
Victoria Aked, representing the prosecution, said the court that Michael Shield possessed photos across all categories when law enforcement conducted a search of his premises and confiscated his gadgets.
Magistrates were informed that officers discovered 50 category A photos, 58 category B photographs, and 98 category C images saved.
Ms. Aked stated: “His IP address was flagged for potential downloading of indecent images, and when the police conducted a search at his residence, they confiscated several laptops and mobile phones.”They contained all sorts of photographs, and he had visited several sites that exhibited an interest in child images.Initially, these were fetish websites, but subsequently delved into the realm of illicit imagery. “He confessed during the interview and will now be obligated to comply with the notification stipulations of the sex offenders’ registry.”
A pre-sentencing report must be finalised for Michael Shield before to his sentencing.
She stated, “We will additionally seek a sexual harm prevention order during his sentencing hearing.”
Consequent to his guilty pleas, Michael Shield was required to report to a police station within three days of his court appearance, as he is now classified as a sex offender.
He must furnish the police with his personal information, including his name, residence, and banking and passport details, to facilitate community management.
Magistrates consented to postpone his case to facilitate the preparation of a pre-sentencing report prior to the determination of his outcome. He was granted bail till that time.
Michael Shield is scheduled for sentencing at the same court on the afternoon of October 24.
