The terrified woman awoke in the early morning to find the father of three, Michael Shaw, kneeling in the bathroom with his trousers lowered to his knees and his genitals exposed.
The unsettling revelation occurred when one of the victims perceived what she believed to be her own reflection in the dim light, only for the figure in the mirror to shift.
Michael Shaw, 30, of Railway Path, Ormskirk, reportedly spent approximately 20 minutes in the residence before being found and thereafter engaged in a sexual act on himself after being ejected.
Michael Shaw had a prior conviction for knife possession.
He confessed to two charges of exposure and one charge of trespassing with the intent to commit a sexual crime.
Michael Shaw was incarcerated for two and a half years.
