In 2024, the Offender Database reported that Michael Lockwood, the alleged Epsom Paedophile and director of the IOPC (Independent Office for Police Conduct), was facing a jury, charged with sexual misconduct against two girls over 30 years ago.
Michael Lockwood, 65, was charged with eight counts of indecent assault against a minor under the age of 16 between August 1979 and August 1981.
He was also charged with three counts of rape and six counts of indecent assault against a second girl between October 1985 and March 1986.
Michael Lockwood, of Epsom, Surrey, disputed the claims brought against him.
He appeared at the Old Bailey on Wednesday to begin a three-week trial before Mr Justice Bennathan KC.
A panel of potential jurors was chosen and sent away until midday on Thursday, when the jury was sworn in.
Jonathan Polnay KC, the prosecutor, was slated to commence the case at 2 p.m.
Michael Lockwood resigned as director-general of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in December 2022.
He was the first director-general selected to manage the IOPC, which superseded the Independent Police Complaints Commission in 2018.
UPDATE 2025
He was found not guilty.
