In 2011, a mother was imprisoned for assisting a Scunthorpe paedophile, Michael Hunt, in the rape of her daughter and subsequently going shopping during the act.
The woman instructed her 14-year-old to engage in sexual activity with Michael Hunt, 40, according to court testimony.
She subsequently embarked on a shopping excursion, while the adolescent’s pleas and cries for assistance were disregarded.
The girl was “too scared to move” during the sexual assault and rape, by Michael Hunt.
Her mother subsequently attempted to manipulate her emotionally into withdrawing the charges.
Judge David Tremberg told the woman: “It almost beggars belief any mother would be so depraved to behave this way with her own flesh and blood.”
Father-of-two Michael Hunt, of Scunthorpe, Lincs, denied rape but was found guilty at Grimsby crown court and jailed for nine years and ended up only serving four of them.
The unidentified mother refuted allegations of aiding in the rape and witness intimidation. She received a five-and-a-half-year sentence. Both individuals have to register as sex offenders for life.
