A Heckmondwike Paedophile, Michael Abass, has received a 25-year prison sentence after being convicted of multiple grave sexual offences against minors.
Michael Abass, 48, from Heckmondwike, was jailed today (16 September) at Newcastle Crown Court for sexual acts deemed by detectives as among the most egregious they had encountered.
The 48-year-old, Michael Abass, was convicted of 16 offences involving two females and one boy. Seven counts of rape were brought against one victim, among additional charges of sexual assault and coercive and controlling behaviour.
Michael Abass also confessed to committing sexual assault by groping a female youngster under the age of 13.
The offences occurred between 2015 and 2024, with some being reported to Kirklees District Police in August of that year by one of the three victims.
The report prompted an inquiry by specialised detectives from the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit.
Michael Abass was apprehended immediately following the initial report and was charged on 19 August.
Upon his release from jail, he will be required to register as a sex offender for life and will be subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
