Matthew Alexander, the Lydney Paedophile, from the Forest of Dean, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of numerous counts of raping and sexually assaulting two youngsters several years prior.
Matthew Alexander, 48, from Lydney, was sentenced to imprisonment yesterday (Thursday, October 2) after a jury unanimously convicted him of 16 charges against minors during a trial.
The inquiry into Matthew Alexander’s offences commenced in July 2023, following reports from the victims, now adults, to Gloucestershire Police, alleging that he had raped and sexually assaulted them on several occasions.
The girls were under the age of 13 at the time of the offences.
The judge imposed a 20-year prison sentence on Matthew Alexander, along with an extra two years to be served on licence, citing aggravating elements related to his offences.
He was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 30 years to safeguard the public, along with a 30-year restraining order prohibiting contact with both victims. His name will be permanently included in the Sex Offenders’ Register.
Matthew Alexander will serve a minimum of two-thirds of his sentence in prison prior to becoming eligible for release.
